Celebrating the Best of Social Enterprise in Cumbria
 
Nearly 70 people attended this year's Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony held on Monday, 5th March at Newton Rigg College Conference Centre.
 
Keynote speakers at the conference were sisters, Jill Stannard, Chief Executive of Cumbria County Council and Fay Selvan, Chief Executive of The Big Life group.
 
County Councillor Tony Markley, CCC Cabinet Member for Economic Development presented the awards to the winning businesses [pictured left].

Joint Winners - Nenthead Community Shop & Lyvennet Community Pub
 
Community Enterprise of the Year

Winner - Works 4 You Ltd
Runner-up - Cumbria Youth Alliance
 
The winners of each of the four categories received £500 + £250 worth of PR support and runners-up each received £250.

The Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership is funded by the European Regional Development Fund with the Cumbria County Council acting as the Accountable Body. It is managed by a Steering Group made up of key members of the social enterprise sector within Cumbria. Any social enterprise in Cumbria can join the partnership, so if you're not already a member don't waste any more time and complete our online Registration Form.
