Assistance to Social Enterprises

In the 2010-2011 year CSEP delivered an Intermediate Business Support Programme to 30 businesses. It is hoped that we will shortly secure additional funding, which will enable us to extend the programme of support to more businesses this year. The support programme funds up to 2 days specialist consultancy support for existing Cumbrian social enterprises. This could include support in:

  • finance and funding
  • procurement
  • product development
  • sustainability planning
  • effective governance
  • measuring social benefit
  • energy audits/ renewable energy systems
  • internal quality systems
  • ... and more
Due to European Regional Development rules business assists are not available for the following:
  • new business start-ups
  • retailing
  • nursery and childcare provision

If your business is a new social enterprise (up to 3 years old), you may also be eligible for support from the Cumbria Intensive Startup Programme.
